Biochemistry

About the Department

The Department of Biochemistry strives to deepen our understanding of the chemical structures and processes inherent in health and disease, forming the basis of fundamental medical sciences.

This department actively teaches, researches, and upholds rigorous standards in diagnostic services. Specialized tests for hormones, tumor markers, vitamins, clinical toxicology, and basic metabolic screening are conducted in labs equipped with cutting-edge technology analyzers. Both faculty and students are encouraged to pursue research endeavors and publish scientific papers.

The department conducts investigations covering a range of health indicators such as diabetes, cholesterol levels, renal function tests, liver function tests, anemia, complete blood count, typhoid, and dengue fever tests, among others.

To enhance clinical understanding, the department invites clinicians to discuss case scenarios, emphasizing the role of biochemical mechanisms in health and disease causation. This collaborative approach benefits both students and researchers.

The Biochemistry section of the Diagnostic Laboratory boasts state-of-the-art facilities, the latest equipment, and skilled laboratory personnel, providing round-the-clock services to ensure the delivery of quality healthcare to patients.
