Welcome to the department of Ophthalmology, the medical discipline focused on diagnosing and treating diseases related to the visual pathways, encompassing the eye, brain, and surrounding areas such as the lacrimal system and eyelids.
The department is adept at managing emergency cases and elective surgical procedures, including suture-less cataract surgery, Endo Nasal DCR, and laser treatment for diabetic retinopathy.
Students undergo comprehensive training in history-taking, examination methods, and the use of OPD instruments. The training includes observational learning and subsequent case presentations. A CD library has also been established to facilitate understanding of innovative surgical procedures.
The department plans to conduct several Continuing Medical Education (CME) sessions in Neuro-Ophthalmology, Oculoplasty, Immunology, Pediatric Ophthalmology, Orbit, etc., shortly.
The Ophthalmology staff actively participates in developing integrated ophthalmic care, extending services to patients through various camps. In addition to basic ophthalmology equipment like A-scans, the department is equipped with advanced tools such as lasers, perimetry, B-scan, and a fundus camera.
