About the Department

As a medical discipline, pediatrics is devoted to the well-being of infants, children, and adolescents.

The Pediatric Department at Sri Satya Sai University of Technology and Medical Sciences in Hosur is dedicated to providing preventive and curative services for pediatric and neonatal patients, aiming to deliver exceptional tertiary healthcare to children in the Hosur region. Additionally, the department plays a pivotal role in identifying and treating children facing physical and mental challenges.

In alignment with the standards set by the Medical Council of India (MCI), the department boasts adequate facilities for undergraduate teaching programs, currently accommodating 150 MCI-recognized undergraduate seats. With two fully operational OPDs catering to patient evaluation and treatment, the department ensures a comprehensive approach to care.

Featuring a Level 3 Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU) and Pediatric Intensive Care Unit (PICU), the department, led by neonatologists and critical care intensivists, is well-equipped to manage sick neonates and pediatric patients. Collaborations with neurology, physiotherapy, biochemistry, pathology, and microbiology further enhance the department's capabilities.

The department has notably evolved to encompass sub-specialties such as neonatology, pediatric ICU, pediatric surgery, pediatric audiology, and pediatric psychiatry.
