Radio-Diagnosis

About the Department

The Radiology Department, equipped with cutting-edge technology, is a pivotal academic and diagnostic center offering advanced imaging services to patients. Recognizing the indispensability of imaging across various medical disciplines, Radiology acts as a nexus for interdisciplinary collaboration.

In addition to routine imaging and contrast investigations, specialized procedures such as musculoskeletal ultrasonography, CT angiography, virtual colonoscopies, and image-guided interventions are conducted. Highly skilled in-house and visiting consultants perform vascular, gastrointestinal, and hepato-biliary interventions.

Undergraduates learn about imaging modalities and their applications through theory and practical sessions. The curriculum covers CT, MR, ultrasound, and contrast studies, giving students a concise understanding of this expansive subject.

The department has state-of-the-art imaging facilities, including a 64-slide CT unit, stationary and portable ultrasound machines, head CT, and mammography. The central Picture Archiving and Communication System (PACS) is noteworthy, which facilitates seamless collaboration with other departments for academic and patient care purposes.

Students also have privileged access to the departmental museum and the digital library, enhancing their learning experience.
